In the run up to preparations for the International Year of Astronomy 2009, a number of outreach activities and national events are currently being developed. To encourage international collaborations and support educators and science communicators in the field of astronomy the UK Association for Astronomy Education has set up a new email discussion listserve with the main aim of exchanging ideas, best practices and resources. The listserve is open to everyone with an interest in Astronomy from all sectors of education, public outreach, academic and amateur astronomy, and can be found at: www.jiscmail.ac.uk/lists/ASTRONOMY-EDUCATION.html
